Civil Plant Operator - Excavator (20-30t) - Testing

EMG Workforce is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator for a civil infrastructure project in the Cairns region. The role involves road upgrade and drainage works for a reputable Tier 2 contractor, offering consistent hours and long-term project opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate 20-30 tonne excavators for bulk earthworks, trenching, and drainage activities.
• Perform detailed trimming to design levels using GPS/Machine Guidance systems.
• Load trucks and assist with stockpile management.
• Complete pre-start checks, minor maintenance, and accurate daily plant records.
• Work closely with site crews while complying with traffic management and site safety requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience operating civil excavators.
• Experience on road construction and drainage projects preferred.
• Strong trimming skills and proficiency with GPS systems (Trimble or Topcon).
• Valid Excavator High Risk Work Licence or VOCs.
• Current White Card (Construction Induction).
• Current driver's licence.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
